Nore Light Vessel

Thames Barge

Born in 1948, Tony is a recently retired GP.  Over many years he has 'dabbled in oils' when time has allowed, sometimes competing with his other great love, of singing. He was for many years in the Philharmonia Chorus, and now sings with the Surrey Hills Chamber Choir, winner of  'Adult Choir of the Year' in 2012.

Now he has more time to devote to painting, he is experimenting with different media and styles, and he was delighted to be accepted into the Maritime Art Group. He finds painting en plein air with the group very stimulating. He loves trying to capture the interplay of light between sky and sea, and likes to focus on interesting shapes in  structures such as buoys, groynes, & chains.

The real joy of painting for him is and learning and expressing something new every time he paints.
